The Milivoj Blaslov fishing company, now run by Božidar Blaslov, was founded in 1994 by his father in the village of Kali on the island of Ugljan. The village is considered the largest fishing village in the Adriatic.
The company's main activity is catching small fish (anchovies) and large bluefish (tuna). The vessel "Škoda," named after a family ancestor, is used for this purpose.
In 2015, the company expanded its activities to include freight transport with a fleet of four refrigerated trucks.
Milivoj Blaslov's new project "Provir" aims to conserve natural resources by reducing the number of bluefish caught and replacing the resulting lost income with new tourist offers.
The town of Kali is located in the southern part of the island of Ugljan and is part of the Ugljan-Pašman archipelago, or rather the Zadar archipelago.
The inhabitants of Kali are traditionally focused on catching bluefish; Kali's fishermen specialize in tuna fishing; many have caught fish in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, as well as in Micronesia. Today, Kali boasts a fleet of approximately 30 modern vessels, a modern fishing port, and a fish farm in net cages.
