Grk
Grk is an autochthonous Croatian grape variety used to produce the white wine of the same name.
The soil that the Grk likes to thrive on is sandy. As a single-sex variety, the Grk vines themselves are regularly planted in combination with Mali Plavac for pollination.
The vineyard is located on the southern slopes of Krivi njivi on the barren white sandy soil, which is extremely favorable for the cultivation of this noble wine variety. The Grgurević family were among the first on the Pelješac peninsula to plant this extremely rare variety of wine, which is grown exclusively on the island of Korcula. The Grgurević family's small Grk vineyard is surrounded by Plavac mali, Plavac mali sivi and Pošip to ensure the best possible pollination and create optimal conditions for its growth and development.
A golden color with a shade of green is characteristic of the Grk wine, it is dry in character and its alcohol content is usually below 14%. Due to the good pollination of the early harvest, this wine is characterized by freshness and playfulness and can also be drunk as an aperitif.
