Kuhkäse mit Trüffel aus Istrien

Semi-hard cow’s milk cheese, cow cheese with chopped truffles. It has a unique and distinctive fine taste. It is made using a special recipe. Serve it as a cold starter accompanied with Istrian dry-cured ham, melted on top of polenta or use it to prepare “fritaja” with truffles. Many a gourmet find precisely this cheese to be their favourite delicatessen, all the more reason for you to treat yourself to it and enjoy or give it as a present to your loved ones.

The truffle business of the Karlić family from Paladini near Buzet was established last century by Mr Ivan Rašpolić, in 1966 to be exact. Both white and black truffles found in that area were considered to be among the best quality truffles in Istria. However, one of the richest truffle fields now lies at the bottom of the Butoniga lake!
