POŠIP CARA WINE ESTATE
One of the oldest settlements on the island of Korcula is a place called Cara (Villa di Kzar) in the middle of the island. In its vicinity there are many ancient sites with archaeological finds such as tombstones and Roman country villas (villae rusticae) with remains of stones, amphorae, jugs.
In this traditionally farming environment, the residents have steadily improved the level of the cultivation of the vines over generations. In the meantime it is operated in modern cooperatives, organized in the Pošip agricultural cooperative by Cara. In this form of organization, it was possible to position the autochthonous variety Pošip in quality and top-quality forms in such a way that they are competitive in the national and international market.
With its modern technical and technological equipment, its qualified staff and the constantly growing demands of the market, the winery always offers wines of the highest quality and in this way increases Croatian wine and gastronomy to a stimulating pleasure.
